2. What is the difference between glass coating and ceramic coating?
Glass coating is a chemical coating, while ceramic coating is a physical coating. This means that glass coating forms a chemical bond with the paint, where ceramic coating creates a harder and thicker protective layer on top of the paint. This makes it more resistant to external influences such as scratches, dirt, and UV rays.
Glass coating is thinner than ceramic coating and it wears out faster. Therefore, it offers less protection than ceramic coatings. However, glass coatings are better suited for improving the depth of the paint and making cars shine more. However, many products contain a combination of both coatings.
3. How does a coating work?
Coatings protect your car from daily impacts such as scratches, tar, acid rain, UV rays, and road salt. They form a strong barrier that prevents harmful substances from coming into contact with the paint. Moreover, these coatings also give the paint a long-lasting, deep shine and make maintaining your car much easier, because dirt and water simply slide off.
4. How long does a coating last?
A high-quality glass or ceramic coating lasts between 60,000 and 90,000 km, depending on the product chosen and how the car is used, stored, and maintained. At Gntlbright, we work exclusively with premium coatings from Labocosmetica, which offer long-lasting protection against pollution, UV rays, and wear and tear. We use HPC Pro, STC + HPC Pro, and Blindo Plus + HPC Pro, which last up to approximately 90,000 km.
5. Does the coating require maintenance?
Yes, although maintenance is minimal. Thanks to its hydrophobic properties, dirt is less likely to adhere, making car washing easier. Regular washing with pH-neutral products is sufficient to keep the coating in top condition. After coating your car, you'll receive a maintenance package that will keep your car shining for years to come.
6. Is coating good for your car?
We only use coatings from the quality brand Labocosmetica. This brand is VDA and TUV certified, PFAS-free, and meets strict safety and environmental standards. Therefore, it is safe to use on your car.
7. What's the difference between coating and PPF?
